Think it may have been a 5K at the Apalachicola Seafood Festival back in 1980. We had sailed over, stayed up late the night before doing non-running things and then I ran the only sub-20 minute 5K ever. I still remember taunting a high school kid at mile 2 that I was going to "take him out." Think we crossed at the same time. Wonder if anyone has a record of that race except me, in my head.

I enjoy many of the traditional GWTC races. I also enjoy my annual trek to Mount Mitchell from my Montreat home in NC.

Always in my neighborhood. Was once to Thomasville Road and back when I lived in Killearn Lakes, now its up Argonne in Betton Hills.

Janice Gage (now Hochstein) and Herb Wills, these are my heros from a few years back. I would see Herb running past Killearn Lakes on my way to work. Thomasville Road was just two lanes then. I think he was in high school, he was really flying. And Janice was every kid's dream, an airline stewardess flying in on the weekends winning all races. Her feet still do not touch the ground.
