"Spirit of the Marathon" Movie Night
Ultra/Marathon Question and Answer Session
Friday, September 10
In honor of the upcoming distance running season, there will be a brief question/answer session starting at 7:00 p.m., featuring local ultra marathon & marathon runners, Gary Griffin & Jack McDermott. They both have completed large numbers of these races and continue to do so with regularity. Come with your questions about what the experience is like and how to train for an event that requires patience, strength, endurance, and a little insanity.
The session will be followed by a screening of "Spirit of the Marathon," a real treat. The film features the experiences of runners preparing for the 2005 Chicago Marathon. They range from first timers to elite, young to senior. This is a really moving film for runners and non runners alike.
This event is open to the public and will be upstairs in the rear building at Thomasville Road Baptist Church. Light refreshments served. If you can let me know you are coming, it will help me estimate a head count, which would be great. If you can't, just show up anyway. Email me off list to let me know or if you have any questions. Thank you!
