Message from Jonny Simpkins, Feb. 26, 2001

I have just arrived here at my house in Davenport.

I cannot tell everyone that I met and that showed up at the Superman Relay, how much they have changed my views of Love in this sometimes mean and cruel world. I cannot tell you the thanks that I have for every one of you.

My soul has been touched in the most special way from attending this Superman Relay for my special brother Tim. All of you should feel so good after what you have done. Tim is one of the luckiest men alive. He has a following and support of friends like I have never seen.

I am proud to be Tim's brother, I am proud of the kinds of people that are his friends. You guys are some of the most caring people I have ever come it contact with.

On the way way home, all I could say and feel is " WOW", those people are amazing. The ten hours that I spent at Leon High School, was the greatest ten hours I have ever spent. I was truly sad when it was over. I was with people that were special, people that make me think that the evil in this world will never succeed. The good people out number the bad, and we shall never forget it. 

My life has been affected by your kindness. The guy who ran over one hundred laps in army boots, the friends that wrote checks, the friends that gave and gave all day long, the children that came dressed up in Batman and Superman and other costumes, the people that put their arm on me and offered support when I felt I needed it really bad. May God Bless you all, forever. I am touched by all of you. Tim is so lucky to have you guys. 

Please understand that if ever I can offer anything to any of you, to please call or contact me. I would be honored to be of any assistance under any condition. I say that from my heart. Tallahassee is a special town. If I ever moved to Tallahassee, I know I would never leave. I truly hope to see all of you again.

If I ever doubt about the love and miracles in the world, I will simply remember "The Superman Relay" and the people that were there. Thank you Gulf Winds Track Club, thanks everybody. I give tears of thanks to you. You are special in my heart. God Bless Everyone, your very grateful,
