Tim Simpkins: Update 2/1/01
From Tim and Ray Wunderlich:
Hi everyone. Tim and I are are starting to settle in and absorb all the new methods of treatment and trying to speed up the therapy (of course). We are using the knowledge we have to blend in with their methods. We have added more supplements with their approval and this pleases Tim. Tim is doing a few IVs a day and eating an all organic food regiment (a bit of a throw for him but I like it...)
The doctors here feel Tim's liver is functioning ok enough that he is pleased Tim is not jaundiced or experiencing any other hepatic (liver) problems. They feel he can be helped. We are guardedly optomistic about the care but Tim still has extreme fatigue most of the time and constant stomach pain most of the time as well. This is probably due to the 10-14 day climatic, deleterious effect of the chemotherapy, from what the docs tell us.
When Tim is able to do so he will email as many people as possible. He is very, very appreciative of everyone's cards, letters, emails, telephone calls, money for his fund and the loving prayers and thoughts for him. We all thank you and everyone who has Tim at heart!!!!!!
Many of the nurses speak a little english but it depends on the level of care. The more important the job, the more english they speak. The docs are ok though. Tim's brother Mark is coming to be with Tim for about a week on Feb. 2nd and I will had off the baton to him, in the lead...
The plane flight was d dream for Tim! He really enjoyed it but I had a barf-bag at the ready just in case. He still found it unbelievable that he could identify a car at 36,000 feet. No nausea or dizzines did Tim have on the flight. He enjoyed all the new gizmos on the plane showing the altitude, speed, distance and temperature.
Tim also wishes everyone "HAPPY RUNNING" and "HAPPY LIVING"!!!!
Signed,
Ray and Tim
