Tim Simpkins: Update 2/19/01
Hello, friends
I hope everyone had a great week-end! Now I wish you folks lots of sensible training for your next race. It seems there is a race every week-end now. Someday I will toe the starting line with you again!
I really do see a jogger go past my window every couple days. Refreshing! The 3-5 daily IV's speed can be adjusted by me as to how fast I want them to go in. I still have my hair so far. Speaking of firsts, I am delighted that I can battle my cancer without having to take up alcohol drinking! Just funning! I have had to change so many things here at hospital. I am glad this is one thing that I did not have to change.
Spanish -English language barrier is still hard to work with. It slows everything down. I have to ask the nurse to repeat herself so I can understand what medicine she is giving me. Mistakes can be easily made if my brother and I fail to keep detailed records.
Friends, we are changing therapy somewhat. I may stay in hospital until March 1. That decision should be made within 2 days. I would love to make the Relay if possible. I definitely will attend the event in spirit. I must do what the doctors and I feel is best for my cancer treatment.
I thank you so much for your e-mails. My printer now works. I am saving your e-mails for my records.
Friends, May you truly enjoy your running and living! Cora and Rachel, I miss you very much. To all of Tally, I really miss our great town!
