City Championships

Maclay’s girls and Godby’s boys dominated the City Championships held at Maclay High School on April 3, 2007. On the girls side, the Marauders scored a 170.3 points, while Lincoln scored 134 and Florida High was third with 112.3. Alicia Finley led Maclay with wins in the 800 (2:29.90) and 1600 (5:33.24) meter runs. Lincoln senior Tracey Rivers had an outstanding day as she set a personal best 18 feet, 1 inch in the girls long jump, and took first in the 100- and 200-meter dash.
On the boys’ side, Godby finished with a team total of 192, followed by Lincoln (92) and Rickards (75). Some highlights from the boys meet included another stellar performance from junior Joseph Franklin, who set a state-best time of 1:53.11 in the boys' 800-meter run. Lincoln's T.J. Bryant, who clocked a 38.70 in the boys' 300-meter hurdles, and Chiles' Bradly Gagola, who threw the discus 150 feet, 6.5 inches, posted some of the meets best performances.
