Exciting and close finishes were the story of the day in the 18th running of the Sickle Cell 5K Sept. 11.
Rob Pautienus won the men’s title in a close battle over Tim Simpkins. Rob finished in 16:24, while Tim was only 3 seconds back with a masters winning time of 16:27.
Kingsley Broughton won the women’s title with a time of 19:44. Newly married Julie Clark was just two seconds back, running a 19:46 for second place to smash the 20 minute mark.
Yvonne Gsteiger was the women’s masters winner with a time of 21:46.
