The next two GWTC team racing events will be in the Western Florida Panhandle.
First is the 31st annual Fiesta 10k team event, which will need two females and two males to score as a team. Here is some information found on the Pensacola Runners Website regarding the race. The course has changed, so please read:
“May 7th is the time…downtown Pensacola is the place.
The new course is now set for the upcoming Fiesta 10K/5K Run.
The change is necessary due to construction on the Cervantes St. bridge.
Attention out of town runners! For assistance in finding hotel rooms call the Pensacola Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau at 800-874-1234. They will have information about room availability.

Distance: 10K or a 5K run/walk.
Post Race Activities: A band, food and beverages are provided while waiting for the awards ceremony. This race offers wine as an alternative beverage, the only race known to do so. A small expo is available to purchase new shoes and other running gear.”
The second team event race in May is the Eglin Air Force Base Gate to Gate 4.4 Mile event on Monday, May 30, 2005 (Memorial Day). Pre-registration and photo ID are required for entry to the Base. Early registration is available through May 14, during which time the fee is $15.00. From May 15 through May 28, the fee is $20.00. There is NO race day registration. On-line registration is available @ www.active.com, or the race application can be downloaded from the www.eglinservices.com web site. Our team is open to all GWTC members who pre-register by May 25 and contact Tim Unger with verification of their registration. A team roster must be submitted by 5/25 so only those who have pre-registered and contacted Tim will be listed on the roster. The scoring members of the team will be the 3 fastest men and the fastest female who are recorded on the team roster. The Third annual Post’L Point NWFTC/GWTC joint post race beach party will follow the awards. Everybody is welcome to enjoy hot dogs, bratwurst, knockwurst, hamburgers, adult beverages, soft drinks and other traditional picnic fare.
