A cool morning and a fit Sarah Docter-Williams made for a strong performance as “The Docter” covered the rolling Indian Head Acres course in 18:09 for a dominating win. Sarah’s impressive performance sent the message that turning 40 has not slowed her down at all. Second place went to Lisa Johnson who ran a strong time of 20:15. On the men’s side Art Remillard made his first race appearance in a long time to win in a time of 17:24. Dale Ruby was second and the first master with a time of 18:20. Julie Clark was the first masters woman after Sarah. She ran 21:39.

The 2004 race saw the debut of Jane Johnson as director and all ran smoothly. Once again the women started ten minutes ahead of the men in an effort to recognize the achievements of women in sports. This year the race also was a benefit for the Children’s Home Society. The busy weekend schedule of activity in Florida kept the crowds down some, but all who attended had a good time and enjoyed a well organized race.
