Want to give it a Tri?

Have you ever driven past a triathlon and thought to yourself, “Hey, I could do that, too, if only I had a day-glo, high-tech outfit like those guys.” Well, if you’re a triathlete, a triathlete wannabe, or a former triathlete gone bad, on November 14th at 7:00 p.m. your prayers could be answered.

This is the first in a series of triathlon seminars. These seminars are being produced by Bob Keller and Mary Jane Tappen, who are both so experienced in this area, as to be known as the Yoda and Yodess of this sport. A 12-week training program will be available along with the lectures.

The first talk, to be held at Premier Health and Fitness Center (November 14th at 7:00 p.m.) will be hosted by Rod Havriluk of Swimming Technology. He will discuss stroke drills, body line, and overkicking plus other related questions.

The second discussion will occur one week later, November 21st, and will be held at Tec’s Bike Shop on Capital Circle N.E. at 7:00 p.m. Ed Holt will deal with bike fittings, gearing and other bike stuff.

These talks and the training program are a rare chance to learn many lessons that other people learned the hard way. This is a good chance to pick up some tips, meet others in the sport, and to learn some skill drills. The experts can offer you many years of experience in every subject related to this field. For those interested in swimming, biking or running, this is a chance to learn to excel in them.
