The following are some results from the Florida Relays in Gainesville on Saturday. These are all PR’s for these runners.

Lee Willis 1500 meters: 3:48.78 (finished 3rd in the race) (See interview with Lee.) Kara Newell 1600 meters: 5:09.54 (finished 5th in the race) Ryan Deak 1600 meters: 4:18.90 (finished 4th in the race)

1600 meters is just short of a mile. I think Lee’s time would convert to somewhere around a 4:06 mile.

1999 GWTC Chenoweth Award Winner Travis Woullard threw the discus 174.4 to make the Dye Stat elite performance list.

PR’s this weekend at Springtime included Julie Clark 42:40 and Allison Eagan 39:18 in the 10K. James Dexter, 5:13 and Casey Perkins, 5:14 ran personal bests in the one mile.

In Carlsbad, California, Breeda Dennehy-Willis ran 15:37 to finish fifth in one of the fastest 5,000 meter races in the U.S. Sammy Kipketer tied his world record for a road 5K by running 13:00. Sally Barsosio won the women’s race in a time of 15:20.
