6PM

Join the Optimist Park Thursday Night Running Group and Kate Lovett, Manager of the Leon County Office of Sustainability, for a fun and environmentally cleansing workout! Plogging is a fitness trend that combines jogging (or walking/cycling) with picking up litter, originating from Sweden and blending the Swedish plocka upp (to pick up) with jogging, creating a workout that benefits both personal health and the environment by cleaning up parks, trails, and streets. Participants carry gloves and a bag to collect trash, performing squats and bends as they run, which provides a more complete workout than jogging alone and promotes environmental awareness.
