GULF WINDS TRACK CLUB Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:32 p.m. Quorum was established.
The board reviewed the September minutes. Nancy mentioned a typo in the summary amount of the Operating Account in the minutes, which should have read $31,725.05. With this correction made, motion to approve was made, seconded, and passed.
New Business:
Felton Wright – Election results presented and were as follows: Tony Guillen- President, Mike Burns- Vice President, Katie Sherron- Treasurer, Emma Spencer- Secretary. At-large board members will be Herb Wills, David Yon, Tom Perkins, Eric Godin, Judy Alexander, Annie Bowman, and Jane Skalski. 227 ballots were cast, of which only 6 were not cast electronically.
Nancy Stedman for Bobby York – Proposed budget for the Swamp Forest Marathon presented. With estimates of income of $5,725.00, expenses of $4,718.10 and proceeds of $1,006.90, motion to approve was made, seconded, and passed.
Tom Perkins – Wrap up of Miller Landing Madness. Income was $2,139.37, expenses were $1,969.53, for net proceeds of $169.84. Proceeds go to the Chenoweth fund.
Old Business:
David Yon – Update on proposed Bylaw changes. After much discussion, it was requested that board members look at the proposed changes as currently drafted and send comments to committee members (committee is David Yon, Paul Guyas, Tony Guillen, Mike Burns, and Zack Scharlepp).

Treasurer’s Report – Katie Sherron
Summary amounts are $39,140.73 in the Club’s Operating account, $2,523.32 in the Events 1 account, $8,187.97 in the Events 2 account, $85,000 in the Investment account, $12,981.78 in the Chenoweth account, and $11,029.75 in the Tri Club account, making Total Assets $158,863.55.
Membership Report – Nancy Stedman for Mark Priddy
Current GWTC membership is up 42 members from last month at 1655 members in 888 households (up 17 from October). The Tri Club has 328 members at this time.
Race Director Coordinator Report – Nancy Stedman for Charlie Yates

Newsletter Report – Nancy Stedman for Fred Deckert

Clothing Coordinator Report – Maggi Beshara & Jane Skalski (via email)

Equipment Report – Bill Lott
An inventory of safety vests was done. With the marathon coming up, about another 100 will need to be ordered. Timing chip mats- Bill has been repairing the older ones with black marine glue. Per David Yon, Peg is looking into the means to facilitate transmission of results live to the internet, possibly to be done with a Mifi. Motion was made to authorize up to $60 per month for wireless data transfer. Motion was seconded and passed.

Triathlete Report – Annie Bowman for Jeff Bowman
National club challenge starts on 12/1/15 to promote winter training. Holiday party will tentatively be held on 12/14/15 at Southern Public House. Tony Guillen is to be guest speaker on 11/16/15.
Lecture Series Report – Paul Guyas
There will be an event with Kaos Group Training on the evening of Wednesday, 11/18/15 at 7:30 p.m. There will be an event on nutrition / fueling on 12/13/15 with Anna Busby.

Social Report – Zack Scharlepp
There was a social at Monk’s after the Vet Fest 5k that was attended by 30+ members. On 12/12/15 the GWTC holiday party will happen in cooperation with Capital City Cyclists at Shiloh Farms. The Turkey Trot festival will be at Cascades Park on 11/22/15 from 1:30 – 5:00 p.m. The Annual Meeting will be at The Taproom on 12/6/15 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Trail Coordinator Report – Bobby York
By next month we will have dates for the summer trail series. The Apalachee Regional Park (ARP) seeks GWTC involvement. Tony referred them to Bobby.
Extra Mention of note (T. Perkins): USA Individual and Masters XC Championship will happen here in the fall of 2016, and possibly in 2017. USATF National Championship will be here around November of 2017.
