My uncle John Danek who served as my second father until he died.  John was an excellent naturalist and outdoors man who taught me an appreciation for nature and many outdoor skills.

Exploration/travel, health and the pure joy of motion while on my feet

Brief Running History

Started running while in 6th grade, ran XC and track for the Burgettstown Blue Devils, ran for a brief time with the Penn State XC team, but had to quit to support my education as I was not on a scholarship.  Started LDR running in 1998 and have run 38 marathons and 5 ultra marathons in 23 states.
