Yesterday in Brooksville, Florida, the RRCA held the Southeastern Regional 50K Championship. It was a day when most sane people were inside enjoying the benefits of their air conditioning units and sucking down large quantities of Ben & Jerry’s. The race time conditions at the start were extremely hot with 97% humidity.

On a course that would be best used for beach volleyball, in this writer’s opinion, GWTC’s Gary Griffin put on a show of his own. Gary coolly spiked the competition and claimed 2nd place overall and is now officially the “RRCA Southeastern Regional 50K Masters Champion”. Congratulations are definitely in order for his truly outstanding performance. Great job, Gary, on a race well done!
