Tim Simpkins showed why he loves to come to Perry when he won the Florida Forest Festival 5K for the third year in a row with a time of 16: 59 Saturday, Oct. 21. Tim lead Bill McGuire (17:45) and David Yon (18:24) on a beautiful fall morning. Mark Francis ran a PR, finishing in 18:53.
The female overall winner was Fran McLean (19:57) in her first shot at the Perry course. She was followed by Julie Clark (20:25), last year’s winner, and Mary Jean Yon (22:20).
The top Perry runners were William Carter (21:47), Scott Bridgeman (23:02), and Vince Verges (23:24), and their female counterparts Emily Ketring (23:31), Elaine Bartges (23:46), and Mary Carter (30:07).
A dedicated group of volunteers was ably assisted by Race Equipment Master Joe Dexter.
