Patrick Koon and Kyra Swart lead their teams to Leon County Schools cross-country titles

After five weeks and six meets, Leon County Schools’ 2019 middle school cross-country season is over. And just like each year since 2010, the season ended with the League Championship Meet at Apalachee Regional Park. When the NCAA meet comes here in 2021, the races will be longer, the fields will be bigger, and the athletes will come from farther away, but it won’t be any more exciting. Here’s what happened.

Don’t feel like you have to give up cross-country for the year, though. The Florida State University Invitational Cross-Country Meet is coming to Apalachee Regional Park on 11-12 October 2019. There will even be middle school races on the Friday afternoon program, as well as collegiate races on Friday morning and high school events on Saturday morning.

Smooth trails!
